Andinidad is the first project in which I insisted on a search, on an interest in a topic. Starting from a social crisis due to a large wave of immigration of Haitian and Venezuelan people in 2019, an interest in observing the behavior of the people around me aroused in me and trying to understand this, at the same time a strong interest in the mountain range. of the Andes and their colors appeared in me; then… I began to see everything through the filter of colors, and time was the common factor so that this color palette could exist.

The minerals of the mountain range appear with their colors given different atmospheric circumstances, as well as chaos and chance, as well as waves of migration, composing society and its skin colors, which today inhabit the streets of the city; understanding that this has always happened, and not just now. In this way, interest in landscape and anthropology begins.

Thus I began to study the ancient cultures that lived not only in this area of ​​the Aconcagua Valley, but also the Andean cultures, which are based on elements that are very interesting and that are repeated in the history of the world, such as the understanding of the most basic, such as unity.

The unit that is made up of two, two parts to make up a whole. is the minimum What made me understand the importance of duality and how it goes at its own pace, creating the necessary balance in life; day and night, yes and no, white and black, bad and good, light and darkness and so on…

Cultures of worship and rituals, of songs and dances, that live in close people, friendships that have taught me about it, like the dancers of the Chinese dances (ancient indigenous dances of the north-central area of ​​Chile) continue to live and I from my position as an artist, I began to express in paintings, drawings and poems what happens in this Valley.

As a modern Andean, I ask myself from the observation of the same much more intervened landscape, and from another moment in time, what is my way of representing this Andinity?
